French film icon Alain Delon says he is set to retire from acting soon.
Media reported on Wednesday that Delon announced his retirement from stardom adding that he would do one last film and a play before ending his acting career.
“After having the career that I have had I am finishing it... it is not the end of my life, but the end of my career,” he said in an interview, adding, “When I used to organize boxing matches, I saw lots of men who regretted fighting on for too long. There won’t be one fight too many [for me].”
The French actor reached fame in the early 1960s. He was also credited by Hollywood directors such as Martin Scorsese and Steven Soderbergh.
Delon’s swansong film to be directed by renowned French filmmaker Patrice Leconte is a story of a man which resembles Delon’s image.
